natural inspiration

I saw these leaves on a neighbor's tree on may 4, 2008. 

the shape inspired me, 

so I snipped them for my leaf collection.

I often revisit that collection, 

especially when designing for springtime.

the leaf turned into a pinwheel, and 13 stripes got lucky.
