6 ways to give dad an apron

does your dad love to cook and grill?
we thought of a few ways to dress up a café apron
and we're sure you can think of something special
that fits his personality to a tee.

here are 6 of our favorites.

1. it's true… dads and kids who cook together, laugh together.
we found some clever tools to help,
perfect for healthy eating and lots of smiles.

2. essentials for father's day:
a saw to cut the cake, a professional ice cream scoop,
and an apron to just look good while dishing it up. yum!

3. create a complete package for any dad in the kitchen:
some practical and helpful tools, that make him look good too!

4. your very cool dad will love his new apron
when you hand him a lemonade with moustache ice cubes
and a classy straw.

5. get outside and play.
here are some easy games to play while grilling.
take a break, chase a frisbee, and start a paddleball challenge.

6. he'll look especially sporting in his apron
with his favorite team's ball cap and a matching bandana.
dress him up on his special day.

 wrapping it up:

butcher paper wrap
keep it simple and "in the kitchen" with butcher paper and twine.
(and don't forget to make him a card!)

funny papers wrap
if your dad is funny, this is perfect.
grab the sunday comics before he gets to them.
he will definitely smile when he sees his present.

natural inspiration

I saw these leaves on a neighbor's tree on may 4, 2008.
the shape inspired me,
so I snipped them for my leaf collection.

I often revisit that collection,
especially when designing for springtime.

the leaf turned into a pinwheel, and 13 stripes got lucky.

our newest designs for spring 2014
are being screened and sewn right now.

coming soon :)

how big is big?

our flour sack towels are big
and strong and absorbent.

connie holds one up here in our studio
to demonstrate just how big big is.

this great basic white towel, a hardworking favorite,
is available here.

be a hero...

and make paper towels useless in your kitchen.
you'll reduce unnecessary waste,
and maybe even save a tree.

our 10 ways to use flour sack towels, instead:

oh, we couldn't resist a few more:

wash and dry vegetables, straight from the farmer's market or garden
wrap and store bread and baked goods
that would otherwise get soft and mushy when stored in plastic
wipe surfaces clean
mop up spills
and of course, simply dry your hands

have another idea? please share!
